Hot Jobs Vs. Priority Jobs

Hot Jobs are exactly the same as Priority Jobs in that they run for 60 days and include resume database access for no extra cost.

How are Hot Jobs different?

The answer is that Hot Jobs have higher visibility on our US website - they get shown more prominently in more places, so job seekers are more likely to see them and respond to them than to other jobs. On the Canadian website, it makes no difference if your jobs are Hot or Priority. It only makes sense to post your jobs as Hot Jobs if you are interested in attracting applicants from the US as well as Canada.

On the US site, what is the difference in visibility for Hot Jobs?

• Hot Jobs are posted to the Home Page, which no other jobs are.

• Hot Jobs are posted in a special section at the top of the relevant Job Banks. For example, if the job is a Civil Engineering Job, it will appear on the Civil Engineering Job Bank at http://www.engcen.com/civil.asp. If it has been posted as a Hot Job, it will appear in the top section above all the other jobs. Of course, as new Hot Jobs come in, it will move down the list of Hot Jobs, but it will always be above the Priority and Standard jobs.

• Hot Jobs come up higher in searches than other jobs - for example, if someone does a search for a Chemical Engineering job in Texas and 20 jobs come up in the search, 5 of which are Hot Jobs and 15 of which are Priority and Standard jobs, the 5 Hot Jobs will be at the top of the list.

Of course, Hot Jobs are more expensive - they cost $100.00 Canadian plus GST for 60 days compared to $63.00 Canadian plus GST for Priority jobs. For the extra $37.00, you get a lot more visibility for your job posting on our US site.
